What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

New Blog Off participant Cardiogirl suggested this topic and we like it.

The ancient Greeks held that Athena sprang fully-formed from the head of Zeus. She was the ultimate self-made woman. It’s an attractive myth and it’s tempting to believe that we get to where we are by virtue of our own hard work and pluck. Unlike Athena, human beings undergo a lot of training and development to get to their fully-realized selves.

The truth of the matter is that none of us gets to where we are alone. We’re the products of everywhere we’ve ever been and everyone we’ve ever known. So with that established, the Blog Off this week wants to ask, what’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Publish on your blog anytime on Tuesday, March 15th and send a tweet to @letsblogoff or fill out the form here if it is your first contribution so we can pick it up and add you to the list of participating bloggers. Be sure to visit all the other bloggers to see how they tackled the theme. Retweets and comments are always appreciated. Remember to use the #LetsBlogOff hash tag in your Tweets.
